​I don't usually write reviews, but I felt I needed to share my feedback on this one. After several months of using this unit, my initial review has taken an even more positive turn. I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. ​Installation & Support: The installation was extremely simple, with clear instructions for a DIY setup. I will note there was one small hiccup: the kit sent was an updated model, but the manual was for a previous revision where a specific wire was no longer needed. The CarTech team resolved this almost instantly over WhatsApp by sending the updated instructions. Excellent customer support. ​Build Quality & Display: The Tesla-style screen is amazing. The interface is clean, display clarity is sharp, and it integrates seamlessly into the dashboard. Living in Kuwait, I originally bought this to replace my factory Cadillac CUE screen, which failed due to the extreme climate. ​Extreme Thermal Resilience: This unit can genuinely withstand harsh Arabian Peninsula summer temperatures (60°C+). During a return trip from Saudi Arabia amid a massive heatwave, the screen eventually cut out due to extreme heat. Upon restarting, a purple blob appeared in the center (pictured)—a classic sign of thermal LCD damage. Disappointed (though not entirely surprised given the conditions), I left the Cadillac parked for a few weeks and drove my secondary car. ​When I finally hopped back into the Caddy to move it, to my complete surprise, the screen booted right up to the crisp home display as if nothing had happened. The temporary heat stress cleared up completely, and it has been working flawlessly ever since. ​Verdict: I can confidently recommend this screen to anyone, especially those living in harsh climates. My car feels brand new with this upgrade ad I love it! I have a 2013 Toyota RAV 4 and have been wanting an upgrade to the stereo with Apple’s CarPlay to run Google Maps and Apple Music, but was worried about the cost of having one professionally installed. I was able to put this in myself in just a few hours with the included instructions, and it has transformed the look, feel, and sound of my whole car! It feels like a modern upgrade that will allow me to continue driving my car for years to come. The system is basically plug-n-play. It worked perfectly with my car’s existing systems including steering wheel controls and back up camera system like magic, and still has functionality for me to upgrade in the future like navigation, mic, camera systems and more to further upgrade my car. The sound in the new system is a huge upgrade to the OEM system as well with tons of EQ options. and If you want the feel of a newer car without the investment look no further than a system from Car Tech Studio. Their email support is very responsive and answered all my questions as well, I will be recommending CarTech Studio products for all my friends and family at this point. Easy five stars, I would highly recommend picking up one of these systems from CarTech Studio if your car is due for an upgrade.

The lack of Apple car play and small screen made me decide on Car Tech Studio’s radio for my 2017 Nissan Qashqai. The installation was super simple, and the wiring harness was all plug and play. I wanted access to Apple Car Play and a larger display for my 2016 Nissan Altima. This product solved both of those problems. Installation was reasonable. Removing the cars trim was the biggest challenge. I solved that puzzle with a YouTube video that gave me step by step instructions on the removal of the OEM head unit. I appreciated that the new unit was compatible with my car’s rear camera. So far, I have no regrets about this purchase.

Nissan Altima 2013-2017 — Premium 9” CarPlay & Android Auto Head Unit

The product is as advertised, very easy to install and doesn’t require a four year college degree. Works perfectly, just a couple of issues with the software. I have reached out to support department and waiting for their response. The first issue is the startup screen, I want the ApplePlay to be the primary one at startup and not the Android. The second one is, the Tesla screen will display the original screen from the Sync 2 but when you press any buttons in the original screen, the buttons will not work… I am sure there is a setting that I have to do to make this happen. Other than that… this is an amazing product and highly recommend!

Looked around online to see what options I had to add Apple CarPlay to my Buick and found Car Tech and a few other companies. I went with Car Tech due to the plug and play nature of the product and the good reviews. Install was pretty straightforward, the hardest part was getting access the needed ports cause you can’t see under the dash so it’s a lot of fingertip feel. The included instructions could be clearer but luckily Car Tech had an install video that I could follow along with. I would recommend searching and see if they have something for your car. Tech support was very helpful when I did reach out for an issue with my steering wheel controls so no complaints there. Overall very happy with the purchase and adding some new useful tech to my car.

Buick La Crosse 2014-2017 — Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Module

At first, I was a little thrown off by the more expensive premium price I was paying for a Car Tech Studios deck unit, but then after receiving the unit and installing it, it was 100% worth the extra money. you can buy a cheaper deck unit and save some money or you can just buy once and cry once and this is exactly what that unit is. The deck unit itself is very functional, also very responsive and I've had zero issues in the few weeks of using it, and it also has a lot of extra features that are very useful to have. The Tech support that car Tech studios gives you is also incredible, I had some issues navigating through the menus to find certain things and I was immediately responded to with in-depth and extensive solutions to my problems. can't recommend these guys enough. really enjoy their product and I have no doubt that if I have any issues in the future they will be more than willing to help me out and or replace my unit if need be.

I purchased this unit after searching for a replacement for my wife's 2013 Corolla head unit. Car Tech Studio was recommended due to their better equipment and great customer service. They ensure a match for your vehicle before shipping. The unit comes with everything that you need, including the correct wiring harnesses. I have limited experience with car stereos, but installation was very easy, but you should watch a Youtube video about your specific car to see how to remove the old unit. This unit is a huge improvement over the previous one- better sound quality and control, more options, and things the previous unit could not do. My only requirements were that it support the backup camera, allow offline music via USB, and take Bluetooth phone calls. Not only does it do all of those things, but it also retains the factory steering wheel control pad and is equipped with Apple Carplay/Android Auto functions like GPS and other app support. This is definitely worth the extra money vs the iffy Amazon units. Plus, the customer service at Car Tech Studios is very responsive. You can ask anything about the installation and get a response at least by the next day. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to replace a touchscreen head unit.

Easy install and no wiring needs to be done. The head unit is very responsive and quick. If you have issues with Bluetooth being less loud than the radio you will have to go into your phone and update your sound and haptics to no audio limit because apparently your phone automatically limits loud noises. Great product! And very fast shipping to US. Overall very happy with my purchase.

After numerous issues, I found that my battery was going bad. Replaced it and my problems, that I thought was the new unit, went away. Jeep Cherokee 2014-2023 — Premium 10.1” CarPlay & Android Auto Head Unit

For starters, costumer support has been incredible. Really quick replies with helpful insight. The unit itself is not terrible to install, but took me around 2-3 hours however that could be due to my own incompetence. My 2014 Tacoma now feels like a truck made in 2022. I mostly got the unit for the android auto but it seemingly has endless features and capabilities beyond that, and processes faster than my old ipads. Only thing holding me back from all 5 stars is the pricing. Don't get me wrong I think it was worth it, buts it's a heavy investment. If you've got the money though, I'd say do it!

Definitely makes the car look and feel a lot newer! Functionality works great and is smooth. It immediately connects to my phone when I get in my car. Look/function is a 10/10. Installation is a 5/10. I deducted a star because the installation is definitely not easy. The instruction video is decent, but the view is obstructed when they are connecting different types of plugs that have unique connections. This made it a little more difficult and took a bit longer to do. If you’re comfortable with any car wiring, you’d probably find it manageable. Narration would also be a big help in any future videos!

I was getting bored with the factory head unit that came with my 2017 Civic LX Hatch and decided to look for an upgrade. I’m so glad that I decided to go with this one since it’s backed with a warranty and lifetime support AND it looks like an OEM head unit! The installation process is easy but be ready to devote a few hours as you’ll need to follow the instructions carefully and play around with which installation option works best for your car. My only complaint is that if you’re using it solely for Apple CarPlay - it does take a little longer to boot up than I would like. Sometimes the sound doesn’t connect either but it eventually does. Still a great product nonetheless!

I’ve had this head unit for almost a month now, and I’m really happy with it so far. The install was straightforward, and it’s been a huge upgrade over my stock radio. I really like that it comes with YouTube and Netflix already installed, and having both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is super convenient. I also noticed that the sound quality is a lot better than the factory radio, which was a nice surprise. The touchscreen is responsive and easy to use. The only downside was that when my package initially arrived, they forgot some clips, but customer service was very responsive and shipped the missing clips over quickly. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

The only thing my 2016 BRZ needed to feel like a 'modern' car to me was the availability of Wireless Carplay, and the head unit from Car Tech Studio made that possible. Installation was simple and straightforward once I got the correct wiring harness and the team at CTS was helpful in sending the correct wiring setup when the incorrect one was mistakenly sent originally. Everything lined up, all the features transferred over (including back-up camera), except for the satellite radio antenna that I never used in the first place. I am happy with the results and am glad to have a modern-feeling infotainment system in my still-great-driving BRZ.

I have a 2013 Toyota RAV4 with a very old screen that is basically useless, and it does not support CarPlay. I wanted to upgrade my car so I could easily use my phone, so I started searching for a CarPlay device. At first, I found some options on Amazon in the $100–$200 range, but many of the reviews said they were laggy. I decided to do more research and found a company called Car Tech Studio, which specializes in creating head units for many different cars. I read a lot of information on their website, checked the reviews, and even chatted with their support team. They answered all my questions very quickly. They also offer a full return if you do not like the product, and they even cover the return shipping. Because of that, I decided to place an order with them. After I ordered, they emailed me with a few questions. They asked whether my car had JBL audio, whether it had a 360 camera, and they also requested a picture of my dashboard to make sure they sent the correct cables for the installation. Once everything was confirmed, they prepared the order. It arrived in four days with DHL, and they even reimbursed me for the import fees after I sent them the receipt. For the installation, they sent very clear instructions, and I was able to install it myself. I had a few questions while doing the installation, so I emailed them, and they replied right away while I was still in the car working on it. The interface is great. It connects to your phone automatically, and CarPlay starts automatically after you pair your phone with the device. You can also use Google Maps without internet, which is very useful if you do not have your phone with you. You can install any app you want from the Google Play Store, including Netflix. You can even download movies to your Netflix account and watch them anytime. Keep in mind that the device can detect the handbrake. If the handbrake is off, it will show a message saying you cannot watch videos while driving. However, there is an option to disable this feature so your passengers can watch while you focus on driving. The only thing that could be improved is that the car’s built-in microphone does not work with the unit. However, the device has an internal microphone, and they also include an external microphone in the package. They told me the external microphone is clearer and better than the built-in mic, so I used it, and it works great.

Without the excellent customer service, this kind of installation could require much more time and research. Car Tech Studio does a lot of that work for you. I decided to buy the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto module from Car Tech Studio because it was already configured for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Car Tech Studio loads the unit with the configuration prior to sending it to you. Everything I needed was included in the kit; no need to pay for any additional adapters or cords. The Jeep feels like a new ride after making this technology upgrade; and now it shares entertainment/hands free features that new vehicles offer!

I’m having some issues trying to get them to connect, but I have no doubts that Car Tech’s customer service will be able to help me out. The plug and play harness was an amazing feature! I do love wiring my own harnesses, but it’s nice to relax and know that somebody took the time to do it right for me. It fits seamlessly with where my old radio was, and connects to CarPlay every time! I am extremely pleased with this install and recommend it to everyone, it was well worth the purchase price. Rolls Royce Ghost 2009-2018 — Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Module

I purchased this unit for my 2011 Toyota Tundra TRD Off Road model. I liked the promise of a good quality unit with a powerful processor. I also liked the fact that there was no branding on the front fascia so it looks more like a factory unit. I was not disappointed. The unit boots very quickly and responds almost instantly to commands. The installed look could fool people as being put in at the factory as it integrates well with the centre console (I bought the 10.1 in unit). I also like the dedicated physical volume control and back/home buttons that are always there. The install was quite straightforward with everything provided to connect into the factory wiring harnesses. I also purchased an optional front camera and TPMS system (and had an existing backup camera) which all work well. A big bonus is the ability to hook up a third camera to the AUX video port to allow a trailer camera which I already had installed on my trailer. This was a nice surprise. I received great support from the staff at Car Tech Studio for my many questions mostly related to my particular install. They were responsive and provided helpful guidance. If you are doing the basic install, it should be pretty straightforward. For some reason, I could not call them from Canada but they provided responses via email regardless. The install manual was ok as far as wiring diagrams but my only complain would be the text descriptions for various install and setup steps were in very poor english which made it challenging if you tried to go beyond the basics. I would suggest they write their own instructions.

After my OEM Honda CRV head unit failed, I was looking for an upgraded unit as I never liked the factory unit and its interface. I ordered the Car Tech Studio unit after reading positive reviews. I installed the unit myself which was relatively straight forward. Customer service answered any questions I had promptly. The new unit is above and beyond the OEM unit, with a much larger better display, user interface, sound quality and ability to completely customize and is fully compatible with the car's steering wheel, climate controls and all other car functions. Android auto works seamless with my phone. I would recommend Car Tech Studio to anyone who want a better infotainment center for their vehicle.

Honda CRV 2017-2021 — Premium 10.1” CarPlay & Android Auto Head Unit

I was sick of the tiny stock screen in my 2015 Honda CR-V. I was also previously unfamiliar with Car Tech Studio, but some Reddit posts from other customers convinced me to splurge on a new head unit. What a great purchase! Installation took under two hours and was pretty easy. The instructions that came in the box were a mixed bag--sometimes helpful and sometimes a bit vague. Despite that, I was able to get everything mounted and working with very little trouble. The screen picks up light scratches pretty easily, but they're only visible in the sun and not a big deal to me, personally. Having both Apple CarPlay and the full capabilities of an Android machine is pretty sweet. Nobody else I know can watch full screen baseball games on their car screen when they park to eat or pump gas. I read in the FAQ's that many customers report better audio quality once they install the new head unit, and I bought one hoping it would be true for me too. Immediately after install, even before I customized the EQ profile, it sounded like I had installed a new stereo system in my car. I had no idea how terrible my OEM head unit was making my speakers sound until I installed the new unit. The cherry on top was the ability to customize a detailed EQ profile. My car stereo sounds like a million bucks now. I highly recommend this head unit. Friendly and professional support reps and a very capable device.

Honda CRV 2012-2016 — Premium 11.6” CarPlay & Android Auto Head Unit

So my journey started when I ordered this and after installing and using, which was straightforward and well documented, the support helped me and came back to me every time I needed them. These are main things to explain my experience after couple of months. So first, put it together, plugged in, everything snappy and worked out of the box. Later I had couple of small issues (all resolved, thanks cartechstudio!) No.1 constant hissing - they replied with many settings I could try and I have. It helped slightly, but didn’t resolve issue. Thing is I have sensitive factory amplifier. So only way I could avoid double amplification of noise - I had to cut harness speaker cables and connect them to RCA outputs on head unit. - they even asked me how did I resolve it - very important, they care about customers. 2. My wireless CarPlay worked flawlessly out of the box, fast, snappy, no connection drops/disconnects. - they sent me firmware update files with well written instructions I’ve followed. Now everything works as it should, it did even solve my 3rd tiny issue, which would be “sticky” steering wheel volume behaviour (+/-) acted like I’m holding it intermittently after just one press. I’ve experienced it once more after update, but I think it is something to do with wireless connection with my phone, as it only happens when phone is connected and really rarely. It doesn’t happen when using HU’s volume knob. So more like canbus box slight problem after I had to change setting in factory settings reverse function up/down to play next/previous. But this is really tiny problem I could ‘live with’ - no problem. But most importantly, I know it’s my audio setup that plays role as well. But HU itself just works and it’s fluid. You actually don’t need to set many settings yourself, it’s preset for your car. So maybe background/dark-light mode to small light switch to go with you auto headlights if you want it and logo you can choose for your car when booting from within headunit, it’s there and it’s in the manual “how to” as well. I always preferred standard radios with CP/AA functionality before to save myself hassle. But hey as my first own HU(I come to contact with many) in my own car, I love it and cartechstudio team, too. (Looking forward for future fw updates to stay on top of the functionality) Definitely great, I recommend!

I installed the CarTechStudios system in my 2016 Honda CR-V, and honestly it’s a 10/10 in my opinion. The boot time is quick, which makes a big difference for daily use—no long waiting when you start the car. The sound quality is great (even without amp integration), and everything feels clean and responsive. Apple CarPlay looks sharp and runs smoothly, which really modernizes the interior. The only downside is that the factory backup camera doesn’t display on the main screen with this setup—it still shows on the smaller OEM screen instead. Not a dealbreaker for me, but something to be aware of. Overall though, the system looks great, sounds great, and performs exactly how I wanted. Definitely a solid upgrade.

Honda Jazz/Fit 2008-2013 — Premium 10.1” CarPlay & Android Auto Head Unit

I love having the ability to use Google Maps instead of the factory UConnect navigation system. Being able to navigate Spotify is also high on my list of things I wanted and this fits the bill. The installation was a bit more involved than I anticipated but I was able to do it myself. I did engage the support team for help and that was my only downside. I had to interact with the support contacts very late at night or very early in the morning. All in all this is a great product and I’m happy with it!

The car radio is really great! It boots up instantly the car gets powered on. The customer service is really top notch! They were there with a solution with any issue i came across during install.
